Omaha, Neb. - The Nebraska Medical Center's Transplant programs were honored with two awards on Monday, October 1st at the 2007 OptumHealth Care Solutions (formally U.R.N.) annual National Clinical Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The transplant programs received Honorable Mention Client Choice Awards in the categories of Lodging Assistance and Communication.
Accepting the awards on behalf of the transplant programs was Deb Swanson, Contracting Specialist with the Department of Managed Care.
"I am very appreciative to work for transplant programs that provide outstanding facilities and people to enable us to win awards such as Communication and Lodging" Swanson said.
According to Bethany Blauer, Communications and Marketing Specialist with OptumHealth Care Solutions, Client Choice winners are determined by the results of their annual client satisfaction survey.
"Awards are presented to medical centers that have, in the opinion of our payer clients, excelled in their work with patients and case managers" Blauer said.
A winner and two honorable mention winners are presented in the categories of Communication, Lodging Assistance, and Administrative Ease. The Nebraska Medical was selected from all the medical centers in the OptumHealth Transplant Centers of Excellent Network. Blauer reported that currently, the network is comprised of 634 transplant programs within 127 medical centers across the United States.
This is not the first time that The Nebraska Medical Center has been awarded for its extraordinary transplant services. The programs have received five prior URN/Optum Health Care Solutions Client Choice awards. These awards include Winner of Administrative Ease and Communication in 2005 and Honorable Mention awards in 2004, 2005, and 2006 for Lodging Assistance and Communication.
